Sorry I haven't posted anything here in a while. I've been writing nonstop for a while now, minus a couple month break to build some studio gear for recording. I'll have something on that front soon.
I went to the post office the other day to send a couple records to Canada, and I was charged 75 dollars for shipping. It was about 30 last time I sent something to Canada not very long ago.
Because the dude at the counter was just standing there talking to me instead of ringing me up, there was a whole line of irritated people behind me. I went back the next day to ask why the cost was so high and got a pro-Trump speech. Yeah. I have no idea because the woman there didn't understand basic things like charging a tax that is greater than 100% of what a vendor made on a sale is a good way to put people out of business, not help the country in any way.
I already barely break even on the sale of every record. It might have been a mistake the clerk made, but again, no one could explain anything to me so I have no idea what happened.
So international shipping is going to be a pain in the ass, hopefully only until this gelatinous blob in a Filet-O-Fish diarrhea filled suit is gone, but I'm not holding my breath. In the meantime, I will be contacting each person who places an international order to figure everything out on a one on one basis. Or, contact me BEFORE placing an order and we'll see what the best option is.
